Anantapur election results 2024: TDP's Ambica G Lakshminarayana Valmiki triumphs with overwhelming Majority, defeating YSRCP's Malagundla Sankar Narayana by 188,555Votes
Ambica G Lakshminarayana Valmiki from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has emerged victorious with 768,245 votes.
Anantapur is one of the 25 Lok Sabha constituencies located in Andhra Pradesh and falls under the General category. It comprises parts of Anantapur district.
The voting in Anantapur in the Lok Sabha election 2014 took place on May 13 in the fourth phase.
Malagundla Sankar Narayana of Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), Mallikarjuna Vajjala of Indian National Congress (INC), Ambica G Lakshminarayana Valmik of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and others are among the key candidates contesting from Anantapur in the Lok Sabha election 2024.
In the Lok Sabha election 2019, Talari Rangaiah (YSRCP) received 690,901 votes, accounting for 52.42% of the total votes. J C Pavan Reddy (TDP) received 550,597 votes, constituting 41.78% of the total votes. The margin of votes between the two candidates was 61,237 votes. K Rajiv Reddy (INC) received 29,994 votes, comprising 2.28% of the total votes in the same election. On the other hand, D Jagadeesh (CPI) received 20,192 votes, making up 1.53% of the total votes and Hamsa Devineni (BJP) received 7,440 votes, which is approximately 0.56% of the total votes.
In the Lok Sabha election 2014, J C Divakar Reddi of TDP received 606,849 votes, accounting for 50.69% of the total votes. Anantha Venkataramireddy (YSRCP) stood in second position receiving 545,612 votes, constituting 45.58% of the total votes. In the same election, Anil Chowdary P (INC), and Kasani Nagaraju of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) received 16,696 votes (1.39% of the total votes), and 6,218 votes (0.52% of the total votes) respectively.
The literacy rate of the Lok Sabha constituency is 56.63%.
SC voters constitute approximately 14.7%, and ST voters constitute around 3% of the total voters based on the 2011 Census data.
Rural voters make up approximately 65% of the electorate, while urban voters constitute about 35%.
In the Lok Sabha election 2024, 80.51% voter turnout was recorded in Anantapur. The voter turnout of Anantapur in the Lok Sabha election 2019 was 81.01%.
