5 motorists sent to jail for drunken driving

Visakhapatnam: Third metropolitan magistrate court judge Ramya Chavala on Wednesday sentenced four motorists to three days of imprisonment with a fine of Rs 3,000 each and one motorist to two days of imprisonment with a fine of Rs 2,500 for drunken driving.

City traffic wing ADCP K Mahendra Patrudu said the motorists K Appala Naidu (39), K Suresh (23), G Dharma Raju (30), G Sridhar (42) and China Kumar (32) were caught while riding vehicles under the influence of alcohol under Gajuwaka traffic police station limits and their blood alcohol content was found to be 300 mg/100 ml. tnn
