4 dead, 2 injured in road accident at Andhra Pradesh's Vizianagaram district

VISAKHAPATNAM: Four persons were killed, and two others suffered severe injuries in a ghastly road accident on the NH-16 stretch near Polipalle under Bhogapuram mandal in Vizianagaram district on Saturday morning.

The accident occurred when a speeding car, which was heading towards Vizag from Srikakulam, hit the divider and overturned on the opposite route of the highway. A lorry coming from Vizag hit the overturned car, leading to the death of four persons.

The police said three passengers in the car were killed on the spot, and another person died while being shifted to the hospital. The condition of the two more persons is said to be stable.

The police registered a case, and the investigation is ongoing to ascertain the exact reasons for the fatal accident.
