3 COs suspended

VISAKHAPATNAM: The district collector and district election officer A Mallikharjuna suspended three co-ordinators (COs)and issued notice to the Assistant Project Director (APD) of the Urban Community Development (UCD) wing in Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation on Saturday.

There were allegations leveled against them in a newspaper. Collector appointed the additional commissioner K Viswanathan as an inquiry officer. Based on the additional commissioner’s report, the collector suspended COs Tirumala Rao (ward No. 17), Narasimhulu (18), and SV Ramana (19).

A show cause notice was also served to Zone III APD Durga Prasad and removed them from the election duties. Along with them, resource persons (RPs) were also removed from the present posts.
