19 suspected anthrax cases reported

Visakhapatnam: Another 19 suspected cases of cutaneous anthrax has come to light from G Madgula mandal of the district. The patients have been admitted to the dermatology ward of King George Hospital (KGH) on Tuesday and samples have been collected for confirmation of anthrax, said KGH medical superintendent Dr M Madhusudana Babu.
Last month, 16 cases of confirmed anthrax were brought to KGH from Hukumpeta mandal out of which 12 have been discharged.The patients currently undergoing treatment are stable.
A total of 35 anthrax cases have been reported in the district so far since last month.
