Speaking on this occasion, Ganesh Kumar said that the market will get a total built-up space of 18,000 square feet in a G+2 structure model. “The fish market will have provisions for two-wheeler and car parking. Besides the fish stalls, cutting and dressing facilities, the market will also have a cold storage,” said Ganesh Kumar.

Ganesh Kumar thanked Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for allocating the fish market to Vizag city. Naidu himself asked the officials to take up the project during his earlier visit to the city. “Our special thanks also goes to the Vuda officials for expediting the project,” said Ganesh Kumar.

“The TDP government is determined for the welfare of the fishermen community. The diesel subsidy per litre has been now increased to Rs 12.9 compared to the earlier Rs 6. About 750 diesel boats have been availing the diesel subsidy, which fetches each boat about Rs 29,000 a month. Now, the fishermen community is receiving old-age pension from 50 years itself,” said Ganesh Kumar.

Vuda Vice-chairman P Basanth Kumar, Superintending Engineer KVN Ravi, and others were present.
