YSRCP names Chevireddy for Ongole LS seat

Vijayawada: Hours after the resignation of MP Magunta Srinivasula Reddy, YSRCP named Chandragiri legislator Chevireddy Bhaskara Reddy as its nominee for Ongole Lok Sabha constituency.The party had earlier named Bhaskara Reddy as regional coordinator for Ongole, Nellore and Tirupati Lok Sabha constituencies.The party released its eighth list of candidates late on Wednesday.With Ummareddi Venkata Ramana backing out of contest, the party has appointed Ponnur legislator Kilari Rosaiah as its Lok Sabha candidate. Rosaiah is Venkata Ramana’s brother-in-law.The party named irrigation minister Ambati Rambabu’s brother, Ambati Murali, as Ponnur constituency in-charge.The party dropped deputy chief minister K V Narayanaswamy from the list and made his daughter, K Krupalakshmi, in-charge for GD Nellore assembly constituency in Chittoor district. Initially, Narayana Swamy was deputed as Chittoor Lok Sabha candidate and Reddappa as GD Nellore assembly candidate. Following requests from Narayana Swamy, the party retained him as GD Nellore candidate and retained Reddappa as Chittoor LS candidate. A few weeks later, Narayana Swamy’s daughter was named as candidate from GD Nellore.
