Youth shot dead in Chittoor over gambling dispute
Tirupati: A 24-year-old man identified as Sai Kumar was shot dead, allegedly by his friend, following a dispute over gambling money at Thummindapalle village in Chittoor district on Wednesday. According to the police, the incident occurred when a group of youths reportedly played cards in the village. During the game, Sai Kumar reportedly lost about Rs 2 lakh and allegedly owed the amount to his friend, Dilli Babu.

An argument reportedly broke out between the two over the pending money. In the course of the altercation, Dilli Babu allegedly used a country-made firearm in his possession and fired at Sai Kumar. He collapsed on the spot and died due to the gunshot injury, the police said. On receiving information, a police team rushed to the spot and shifted the body for post-mortem examination. A case was registered and an investigation was under way. The police are looking into the circumstances leading to the incident, and efforts are on to trace the accused.
