Woman kills two children, dies by suicide in Vijayawada rural

Vijayawada: In a shocking incident, a woman allegedly killed her two young children before dying by suicide in Paidurupadu village under Vijayawada Rural mandal under Ibrahimpatnam police station limits on Friday.According to police, the woman, identified as Kavitha, 34, who was mentally disturbed since 2020, killed her children Lasya, 13, and Sathvik, 9, before taking her own life. The incident, which was suspected to have occurred around 5 pm on Friday, came to light after locals noticed the family unresponsive and alerted authorities. Preliminary investigation suggests that Kavitha has been suffering from mental health issues for the past five years and was reportedly not in a stable state of mind. The Ibrahimpatnam police registered a case and launched a detailed investigation to ascertain the exact sequence of events and circumstances leading to the tragedy.
