Woman ends life over son’s abroad plan

Vijayawada: A woman in Nellore committed suicide on Wednesday due to mental agony as her elder son was about to go abroad. According to police, Challa Penchala Narasimha Reddy and Vijaya Kumari (45) are residents of New Military Colony in Nellore. They have two sons - Sadasiva Reddy and Bharat Reddy. Bharat Reddy is working in a software company in Bengaluru.Sadasiva was planning to go abroad against his parents’ wishes.
His parents had been asking him to find a job in India and stay with them. But Sadasiva, determined to go abroad, often argued with his parents in this regard. Meanwhile, Narasimha Reddy went to Sabarimala on December 18.
Sadasiva once again discussed his plan with mother. Vijaya Kumari said she would commit suicide if he went abroad.
Sadasiva did not take her words seriously and decided to go abroad on December 25, and made all the arrangements. On knowing the same, Vijaya Kumari went into depression and committed suicide by hanging herself in her bedroom on Wednesday. TNN
