Woman arrested for plotting to kill husband in Proddatur

Tirupati: A man ran into Proddatur police station to save his life from hired killers on Wednesday. Eswar Reddy, a resident of Lingapuram village, accused his wife, with whom he is married for 15 years, of conspiring to kill him. The woman allegedly developed intimacy with an attendant working in a govt hospital, and decided to get her husband killed after he came to know of their affair. She pooled in ₹10 lakh by selling off her jewellery to execute her plan and convinced her paramour to hire someone to her husband. Police have so far taken five persons, including the woman, into custody. Further investigation is on.
