Vijayawada: The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed the petitions filed by Dr Suneetha Narreddy, daughter of former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy, seeking to cancel the bail granted to the accused in her father's murder case. As the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) submitted that it filed the third supplementary charge sheet and completed the investigation, the apex court said that there was no need for cancellation of bail at this stage.
Suneetha filed multiple petitions seeking to cancel the bail granted to the accused, including YSRCP MP YS Avinash Reddy, in the case. She also sought further investigation of the matter as the CBI did not probe the larger conspiracy angle.
Arguing on behalf of Suneetha, senior counsel Siddharth Luthra said that though the CBI did further investigation pursuant to the orders given by the trial court, it did not look into the issues they raised.
However, the Supreme Court observed that as the investigation was completed, there was no need for cancellation of bail granted earlier. The apex court granted liberty to Suneetha to approach the trial court for any issue with respect to the case and for submission of any evidence. The Supreme Court further directed the trial court to dispose of the petitions filed under section 207 of BNSS within four weeks.
