Vijayawada: The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) has taken up renovation and beautification works worth Rs 30 lakh at the KCP-VMC pylon near Tummalapalli Kalakshetram in the city. The works are being executed under the 15th Finance Commission funds and are expected to be completed by the end of this month.
According to VMC park section executive engineer

Decorative lighting and bollard lights are also being installed as part of the beautification works.
Officials said the lower portion of the structure had developed damage over time, prompting repair works. Located on a prominent stretch of the city near Tummalapalli Kalakshetram, the KCP-VMC pylon was constructed to commemorate the centenary celebrations of Vijayawada municipality, which was formed in 1888.
