VIJAYAWADA: The teachers of a government high school in Vijayawada caught two girl students in an
intoxicated state
in the classroom. Their classmates had complained to the teachers about them.
The girls studying in Class IX were coming to school with bottles of alcohol mixed with cold drinks for the last few days; they used to consume the same in the class. On Saturday, they fell on the shoulders of their classmates in
inebriated condition.
After smelling liquor, her classmates complained to the teachers after which it was found that both the girls were drunk. The school principal called their parents and complained to them about their daughters.
The headmaster of the school said, "It is true that the students were drinking alcohol in the class. We came to know that their fathers had a habit of drinking alcohol and the girls took the rest of the bottle. They were addicted to alcohol and were not ready to listen to us. We thought their behaviour will damage the school's image and will influence their fellow students, so we have issued
transfer certificates
to them."
