Vijayawada enjoys its first monsoon rain

VIJAYAWADA

: City witnessed its first monsoon rain on Tuesday. Denizens who faced problems with scorching summer heat felt a sigh of relief on Tuesday with huge rain and thunderstorms.


Benz Circle, Gunadala, Patamata, Moghalrajpuram, Ramavarappadu, One town and other parts of the city received heavy rain for more than one hour. Trees fell at Tikkle road and

in Moghalrajpuram obstructed traffic for a while and officials of Vijayawada Municipal Corporation and fire department swung into action and cleared them.



The huge traffic jam was noted at Benz Circle with sudden rain and denizens suffered to reach homes after completing their work. "It is happy that we received first monsoon rain early this year, but we got stuck in traffic from 20 minutes as the huge tree fell on the main road. Pinnamaneni Polyclinic road and Machavaram main road got inundated and we are facing a problem with them," says M

Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority

(APSDMA) says that thunderstorm activity and rains will increase across coastal Andhra Pradesh as Monsoons are spreading fact across the state. Temperatures will fall to 35 degrees in the city on Wednesday and there is a chance of moderate rainfall, says APSDMA.

They requested denizens to follow weather updates and stay safe in the rainy season.
