Tirupati: Two teenagers were killed and another seriously injured in a
road accident on a national highway near Ralla Kalava in Narayanavanam mandal of Tirupati district on Saturday. According to police, Yuvaraj (17), Yuvaraju (18), and Uday, all residents of Govindappanaidukandriga village in the mandal, had visited the Singiri Kona temple on a motorcycle on Saturday afternoon.
While returning, a car travelling from Puttur towards Nagalapuram allegedly hit their motorcycle near Ralla Kalava. The impact threw the three youngsters onto the road. At the same time, another car travelling from Nagalapuram towards Tirupati ran over them, police said. Two youngsters died on the spot, while Uday sustained serious injuries and was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police rushed to the spot upon receiving information, registered a case, and shifted the bodies for postmortem. An investigation is underway.
