TIRUPATI:

Chittoor district

administration officials along with Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams’(TTD) administration and the Tirupati urban police wing are gearing up for the smooth conduct of the nine-day annual Brahmotsavams festival, slated to be celebrated at the Lord Venkateswara temple from September 30.

Top TTD officials, led by executive officer Anil Kumar Singhal, held a coordination

meeting

with officials of the district administration led by Chittoor collector Narayana Bharat Gupta and Tirupati SP, KKN Anburajan on Saturday.

Speaking to reporters after the meet, Singhal said TTD has sanctioned Rs 7.53 crore to execute engineering works including civil and electrical works in connection to the festival. “About 37 giant LED screens will be set-up at various places including the four mada streets, and at various other prominent places in Tirumala and Tirupati to enable devotees to catch a closer glimpse of the

Brahmotsavam

proceedings,” said the EO.

He further added that parking facilities are being created to accommodate 8,500 vehicles at Tirumala alone. In addition, parking bays will be created near Alipiri in Tirupati.

To cope with the high pilgrim crowd during Brahmotsavams, the city will be under the surveillance of 1,500 CCTVs, 1,200 vigilance staff, 4,200 policemen, 3,500 srivari seva volunteers.

Around 1,500 scouts and guides and 200 additional staff from TTD will be roped in as well, the EO added.
