TTD consults renowned culinary experts for modernization of Annaprasadam services at Tirumala
TIRUPATI: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams held a consultation meet with renowned chefs and culinary experts to seek their advice for taking forward the idea of modernization of Nithya-Annaprasadam services at Tirumala.
In this meeting, Vijay Vikram Cotah, CEO of the GRT group of hotels, renowned Chef Dr Damodaran, president - South India Chefs association, Chef Thirulogachander, head at the Indian Culinary Institute –Tirupati, met the TTD EO J Syamala Rao and other senior officers of the Devasthanams, and shared their suggestions aimed at serving top quality, delicious food free of cost to the devotees visiting Tirumala.
Appreciating the taste of the food inspite of huge quantities, the food experts suggested to the Tirupati trust to conduct a gap analysis and prepare SoPs in every area of activity, enhancing professionalism by training the serving staff, provision of in-house lab to check the quality of ingredients as hygiene process starts from food materials, proper waste management system in a sustainable way, frequent cleaning and painting to be done, mechanisation of equipment etc.
Following the suggestions given by the culinary experts, TTD EO directed the Annaprasadam department to come up with a concrete action plan aimed at enhancing the quality and taste of food served to the devotees at the Nithyannaprasadam canteen at Tirumala.
