TTD advanced cancer care facility at SVIMS to be inaugurated soon
Tirupati: Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), managed by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, carried out a series of awareness initiatives on the eve of World Cancer Day on Wednesday.Speaking at a workshop organised by SVIMS, TTD in-charge EO Ch Venkaiah Chowdary announced that the state-of-the-art advanced cancer care facility being established at SVIMS with a budgetary allocation of ₹120 cr will be inaugurated soon.

Venkaiah Chowdary stated that the new facility will have 5 state-of-the-art intensive care units, 300 additional beds dedicated to cancer patients, and the latest medical equipment to treat cancer at every stage.The in-charge TTD EO lauded the medical team for their expertise and underlined that the TTD is committed to providing world-class infrastructure to ensure no patient is turned away due to a lack of facilities.SVIMS Director RV Kumar noted that cancer is no longer a death sentence and asserted that quality treatment is accessible to all free of cost at SVIMS through NTR Vaidya Seva and the Pranadanam scheme.RV Kumar emphasised the success of the Pink Bus initiative launched by SVIMS, which facilitates free of cost cancer screening in rural areas. He added that SVIMS conducted 730 camps so far and screened about 42,609 people, out of which 3,226 patients were referred to SVIMS, and among them 759 patients fully recovered.
