Two doctors among three killed in road mishap in Anantapur district

Tirupati: Three persons, including two doctors, from Bellary were killed in a road mishap near Vidapanakal in Anantapur district on Sunday.According to the police, the deceased were identified as Govindaraya, Yogesh and Venkata Naidu. While Govindaraya was an oncologist, Yogesh was an ENT specialist and both of them worked at the govt hospital in Bellary. Meanwhile, Venkata Naidu, who also passed away in the mishap, was a manager at a private hospital in Bellary.One more doctor identified as Amare Gowda sustained grievous injuries in the mishap. He was rushed to a hospital in Bellary and his condition is said to be critical.According to the police, the three doctors returned after a vacation from Hong Kong on Saturday night and were heading to their native Bellary from the Bengaluru airport when the fatal accident took place around 4 am on Sunday.Police said that the vehicle rammed into a giant tree at high speed due to poor visibility because of fog in the early hours on Sunday.Police received intimation about the accident from one of the family members of the deceased, who received an SMS alert from a victim's mobile phone immediately after the accident. Subsequently, the accident spot was located by the police with the help of their GPS location.Meanwhile, the bodies of the three deceased was shifted to the govt hospital at Uravakonda for post mortem.
