TIRUPATI: Tirupati SP Avula Ramesh Reddy has sent a stern warning to the lower-rung officials in the police department to act as per law and avoid any scope for favouritism while dealing with civil dispute related cases.
Not just limiting his actions to mere words, Tirupati SP got the Alipiri police inspector PC Subba Reddy transferred to the distric crime records bureau, following complaints against him which surfaced recently in connection with a land grabbing incident reported near Renigunta earlier this week.

Besides getting the 12-member gang arrested in connection with the land grabbing incident, Tirupati SP also cracked the whip against Alipiri CI PC Subba Reddy against whom allegations had surfaced.
Following a recommendation from the Tirupati SP, Anantapur range DIG issued transfer orders to PC Subba Reddy in the late hours on Wednesday.
While Subba Reddy was moved to the DCRB-Tirupati, Tadipatri rural inspector B Devendra Kumar was transferred to Alipiri PS in Tirupati.
Speaking to TOI, SP A Ramesh Reddy said that he will not tolerate any police department official taking sides while dealing with civil disputes.
"Every enquiry should be carried out in a highly transparent way. Eventually the courts will decide upon and deliver justice. While the matter is subjudice and when someone tries to take possession of land/property forcibly, thereby creating a law and order situation, we will act very tough in such cases. Even our own men if found guilty of taking sides will not be spared", warned Avula Ramesh Reddy.
