Tirupati: Pulivendula police booked cases against YSRCP and TDP activists on Thursday following violence during campaigning in Pulivendula over the last four days. Tension prevailed at Nallagondavari Palle in Pulivendula mandal where ruling TDP and opposition YSRCP activists clashed with each other during campaigning. Following a complaint lodged by TDP activists about the humiliation and assault on one Dhananjay, police booked cases under the SC/ST Atrocities Act and attempt to murder against 50 YSRCP activists, including local leaders Velpula Ramalinga Reddy and Hemadri. Police also registered cases against 16 TDP activists, including local leaders Jagabharat Reddy and Srinath Reddy.Pulivendula police also booked cases against Kadapa MP Y S Avinash Reddy and about 150 YSRCP activists on charges of flouting election guidelines by taking out a rally without taking necessary permission from local law enforcement and election authorities. Cases were also booked against Kadapa MP's father Y S Bhaskar Reddy, his close aide Devireddy Sivasankar Reddy, PA Raghava Reddy, and Gangadhar Reddy. A case of intimidation was booked against four YSRCP activists for threatening Viswanadha Reddy, who recently shifted loyalties to TDP.Meanwhile, former MP Y S Vivekananda Reddy's daughter Dr Narreddy Suneetha along with her husband Narreddy Rajasekhar met Kadapa SP E G Ashok Kumar and appraised him about the developments in her father's murder case investigation by the CBI and the developments in the Supreme Court related to the petition filed by her to cancel the bail of some key accused in the case.
