Telangana police raid Srushti’s branch in Vijayawada

VIJAYAWADA: Telangana police, aided by local cops, launched a probe into Srushti Fertility Centre’s local branch.
A key discovery was that Dr Namrata organised a nine-day series of religious rituals (homams) within the hospital, conducted by priests brought in from Bihar — allegedly to boost business and patient numbers.

The Vijayawada facility is being operated by a team of three doctors. Police said Dr Karuna is overseeing overall operations of the centre, while Dr Sonali is in charge of patient treatment and clinical procedures.

Health department officials confirmed that the centre does not currently have valid operational permission. The centre’s licence expired in 2023 and was initially valid only from 2018 to 2023.
