Never met Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy for favours, says YS Sharmila

VIJAYAWADA: AP Congress president Y S Sharmila on Friday said that she had never met chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy for any personal favours. She was interacting with media persons at the party office here as part of Republic Day celebrations.

She said she had never gone to the chief minister for any personal work. She met once in the past along with her mother, Vijayamma, and later to invite him for her son’s engagement. She said that she never expected anything from Jagan Mohan Reddy as well.

“I did my part of the work for the party for two years. I was on the roads working for the party. But, once the party came to power, he changed. He is a different Jagan Mohan Reddy today,” Sharmila said.

She said that her mother is witness to her meetings with Jagan Mohan Reddy and anyone could verify the facts from her. She said that several leaders have also distanced from Jagan Mohan Reddy after he became the chief minister.

She alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy was moving around with the people who killed the Dalits and gave a door delivery.

“This Jagan Mohan Reddy is different from the Jagan I used to know,” she said and criticised the chief minister for diverting funds of the SCs and STs. She alleged that the funds of the SCs and STs were being diverted to benefit the ruling party leaders.

She alleged that the ruling party leaders were eating the funds which were due for the SCs and STs. She said that she is Y S Sharmila and nothing more. “I am the daughter of Y S Rajasekhar Reddy and thus become Y S Sharmila. My father named my son as Raja Reddy,” she said. Sharmila said that some YSRCP leaders were criticising her for joining Congress. She said that it was her choice to join Congress. Her father wanted to see Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister, she said.

“I want to realise the dreams of my father. I am working to bring the Congress back to power. I will see Rahul Gandhi as the PM,” Sharmila said.
