Tirupati: Seven persons were killed in separate road accidents across Rayalaseema districts on Friday. Three persons belonging to the same family were killed in a tragic road accident near Jagadurthi in Dhone mandal at Nandyal district on Friday. The deceased were identified as Shantha, Siddhartha and Bhargavi, all residents of Bengaluru. They were on a pilgrimage to Srisailam. Their speeding car rammed into a crane at high speed and the trio list their lives on the spot.
The number of fatal road mishaps on the Garuda Varadhi elevated expressway have been constantly on the rise in the recent months. A pillion rider who fell from a speeding bike on the Garuda Varadhi, sustained severe injuries and died on the spot after an unidentified vehicle ran over him on Friday. Police shifted his body to the SV medical college mortuary for postmortem.
Meanwhile, two persons identified as Bestha Ranga Swamy and Bestha Pavan, who were travelling on their bike were hit by an SUV near NH 63 on T Kothapalli in Gooty mandal at Anantapur district. Both the motorists died on the spot before they could be shifted to the hospital.
And another road accident reported near Boyenpalli in Rajampet mandal, an autorickshaw driver identified as V Nagendra Babu was killed after his auto rammed into a truck at high speeds on Friday. Police registered a case and shifted his body for postmortem.
