Second Teacher Eligibility Test begins today at 113 centres in AP
Vijayawada: The second Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is all set to begin on June 10.
The exam will continue till June 19. The first TET exam was conducted in February, but another TET is being conducted to allow more candidates to be eligible for the District Selection Committee (DSC) exam. The marks achieved in TET will also contribute about 20% toward DSC.

So, the candidates are also appearing for the exam for betterment and improvement of their marks.
Paper I will be held from June 10 to 13. The Paper II exams will be held from June 14 to 19. The exams will be held in two sessions – one in the morning from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and one in the afternoon from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm.
About 3,97,957 candidates have registered for the exam. The exam will be held in 113 centres across the state. Telangana, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu will also have a few centres for the implementation of the exam. About 14,891 candidates have not exercised any options. The exam is going to be computer-based. HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said all steps have been taken to conduct the test without any problems.
As many as 10,351 posts will be filled through the DSC, which include six categories -- Secondary Grade Teachers (SGT), School Assistant (SA), Physical Education Training (PET), Language Pundits (LP), and music.
About 30,591 candidates have requested for the audit trail reports in the first TET exam. Due to technical glitches a few problems popped up. For example, some students couldn’t see a few question on the computer screen. Also, only 47 per cent of the candidates qualified in the exam. All those students who couldn’t qualify or had faced problems in the first TET exam can now take advantage of the second exam to qualify for DSC.
