VIJAYAWADA: The
Supreme Court on Tuesday directed the
CBI to submit the case diary of YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case in a sealed cover, and also file a counter affidavit in the petition filed by Dr Suneetha Narreddy challenging the anticipatory bail granted to Kadapa MP Y S Avinash Reddy by the Telangana high court.
Suneetha moved the Supreme Court contending that the high court did not consider the issues raised by the CBI with regard to a larger conspiracy behind the murder of her father and the need for custodial interrogation of Avinash Reddy as he was not cooperating with the investigation.
Arguing on behalf of Suneetha, senior counsel Siddharth Luthra said the CBI filed a counter in the high court opposing the anticipatory bail. Glaring issues have been mentioned in the counter before the high court and what they were proposing to do. However, the CBI has not filed any counter yet in the present petition, he said.
The SC bench comprising Justices Sanjeev Khanna and Bela M Trivedi asked the CBI counsel whether they are challenging the high court order. Responding to the query, the CBI counsel said they need two weeks to file the counter.
