as chairman of Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission. Sawang, who took charge as DGP in May 2019 soon after YS Jagan

Mohan Reddy

took over as chief minister, has been replaced with K Rajendranath Reddy, a 1992 batch IPS officer who was serving as DG (intelligence).
The government sent Sawang’s appointment proposal to governor

on Thursday, and chief secretary Sameer Sharma issued the orders on Saturday. The APPSC chairman’s post has been lying vacant since the end of Uday Bhaskar’s tenure about six months ago. Sawangis scheduled to retire from service in July 2023. As the PSC chair is a constitutional post, Sawang will have to take voluntary retirement before take charge.
