RTO official amassed assets worth Rs 25 crore
VIJAYAWADA
: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB
) conducted simultaneous raids at the properties of an administrative officer inRoad Transport Office
(RTO
), and unearthed disproportionate assets worth crores, in Nellore city on Thursday.ACB sources said Krishna Kishore had been under the scanner for the past few months, and after conducting preliminary survey on his assets, ACB DG RP Thakur issued orders to conduct
raid
. So far, sleuths unearthed assets worth more than Rs 25 crore (market value). Going into Krishna Kishore’s background, he first began his government service as a junior assistant in RTO office in Guntur town.In 1997, he was promoted as senior assistant. In 2010, he was promoted as administrative officer, and posted in deputy transport commissioner’s office in Nellore city. Currently, he was attached to Transport Commissioner’s Office in Vijayawada.
During the raids, ACB officials found independent houses, flats, residential plots, and lands purchased at prime localities in Guntur capital region, and Vizag city. ACB sources suspect that Krishna Kishore must have amassed this wealth by taking bribes for official favours to private entities such as contractors. Most of his immovable assets were purchased between 2013 and 2016.
Apart from a house, a residential plot and two plots in Vizag, all the other assets are held by Krishna Kishore’s wife T Anuradha, a senior assistant of transport department, his elder son B Satya Sairam Krishna Kishore, his younger son B Satya Kamal Kishore, and B Venkateswarlu, a benami who is a retired junior assistant. Kishore’s brother B Srinivasa Ram Prasad runs two business.
