Vijayawada: Renowned yoga guru Baba Ramdev will participate as the chief guest in the state-level Yogandhra-2026 programme scheduled to be held in Amaravati on June 21 under the leadership of chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, health minister Y Satya Kumar Yadav announced on Tuesday.Reviewing the preparations for the mega yoga event with senior officials, the health minister said nearly 25,000 participants are expected to take part in the programme. The participants will be divided into groups and guided through yoga asanas by members of Baba Ramdev’s team and representatives of various yoga associations.Satya Kumar Yadav said that, following the directions of the chief minister, government advisor for Yoga and Naturopathy Mantena Satyanarayana Raju and AYUSH officials would visit Haridwar to formally invite Baba Ramdev to the event.He expressed confidence that Baba Ramdev’s participation would significantly enhance the visibility of Yogandhra and further promote yoga among the public. He added that students undergoing yoga training under Baba Ramdev’s institutions are also expected to attend and perform yoga demonstrations during the programme.Meanwhile, a delegation representing Baba Ramdev arrived in Vijayawada to oversee the preparatory arrangements for the event. The team participated in a review meeting held at the state health and family welfare department headquarters in Mangalagiri on Tuesday.
