Quran competition concludes in Vijayawada

VIJAYAWADA: The state-level

quran

competition concluded at Auto Mobile Technician hall in

Vijayawada

on Sunday. The major

competition

garnered 9,000 participants and have been competing with each other for the past three months.

Finally, 50 of them were shortlisted for the finals. Under the 3-4 years category,

Abdul Ahad

won first place in the contest. Under 5-6 years category, Heena Ijma came first. The 7-9 age group saw

Busrara Sukun

from Nellore bagging the first prize. In the advanced category for 10 to 12 years of age group, saw Afreen Harmeyin from Vijayawada.

Interestingly, candidates from other faiths too participated in the event where organisers found it as a goodwill gesture from the parents side.

Naga Komali

from Rajahmundry won first prize amongst non-muslim candidates on Sunday.

The competition was organised by

United Forum for Quran Studies

(UFQS) organised the event. UFQS chairman Dawood along with automobile technician association president

Rajanala Venkata Ramana Rao

participated in the event.
