Private college lecturer sexually assaults minor student in East Godavari district

RAJAHMUNDRY: In another shameful incident that took place in East Godavari district, a lecturer sexually assaulted one of his minor students. Kovvur police have booked case under POCSO act and other sections on the charges of kidnapping and rape.
According to Kovvur DSP, G Deva Kumar, Vinay Vardhan worked as an English lecturer in a private college in Rajahmundry and the girl was in second year of intermediate.
The accused is 40 year-old , now-divorcee. He reportedly trapped the girl and took her to a lodge in Vijayawada on January 28 from the college and sexual assaulted her. Later, he took her to Chittoor. After coming to know that a complaint was lodged in the police station, the girl returned to home on February 1. The police are searching for the accused.
