Police seize Goan liquor worth Rs 12.52 lakh near Proddatur

TIRUPATI: Special enforcement sleuths seized Goan liquor worth Rs.12.52 lakh near Proddatur in YSR Kadapa district on Wednesday.According to Kadapa SP Siddharth Kaushal, Proddatur police along with SEB sleuths conducted vehicular checks near Jammalamadugu-Mydukur bypass road and intercepted a vehicle laden with Goan liquor.Police seized about 1252 liquor bottles (750 ml each) worth approximately Rs.12.52 lakh and seized the vehicle used for the interstate liquor smuggling.Six persons identified as Ediga Sreedhar (27), Vempalli Ravikumar Reddy (35), R Vanith Kumar Reddy (28), Barike Sreeramulu (28) and Eediga Ravi (21), were arrested by the police.
