Police reunite missing child with parents

VIJAYAWADA

: The 18-month-old boy Veeresh who was kidnapped by a man at

Tirumala

finally reunited with his family on Tuesday after four days. The Tirupati urban police arrested the kidnapper and rescued the boy from Mahur in Nanded district of Maharashtra on Monday.


The kidnapper was identified as I Viswabhar (43), a native of Ramnagar in

Nizamabad district

of Telangana. Speaking to reporters on Tuesday the Tirupati urban SP KKS Anburajan said that Viswabhar was unmarried and he was in fear that no one will look after him in his old age.

He planned to abduct a child and raise him with a view that he will look after him in later stage of his life.

Viswabhar used to work as a mason and was a regular visitor at Tirumala. He continued to stay at Tirumala in search of a child.

On the morning of December 28, he found Veeresh playing near Madava Nilayam while his parents were asleep. Taking advantage of the situation, he took the boy away and boarded a train from Tirupati to reached Mahur town.

Meanwhile, the Tirupati urban police launched an extensive investigation after they received complaint from the parents.

The additional superintendent of Tirupati K M Maheswara Raju rushed along with his team, arrested Viswabhar.

They produced him in the local court and shifted him to Tirupati on transit warrant. While on Tuesday morning SP Anburajan re-united the boy with his parents.
