Police hunt for dad after girl’s suicide turns into murder

VIJAYAWADA: An alleged suicide of a 19-year-old girl in July has turned out to be a case of murder after police received forensic lab reports on Thursday at Chandragiri in Tirupati district.According to SI Vamshi of Chandragiri, D Mohana Krishna had lost her mother in childhood and was living with her grandmother since then. Her father Muniraju stays separately. The girl discontinued her second-year intermediate classes and stayed at home. She was in love with a boy from Nagayyavaripalle from a different caste. Muniraju learning about the same was upset with his daughter.Mohana Krishna died in July and police registered a case of suspicious death. Post-mortem report, however, said the girl was murdered.When police went to question Muniraju about the incident, he was found missing from his residence. The police have registered a murder case and an investigation is underway.
