Pawan Kalyan to attend Andhra University cultural fest
Visakhapatnam: Andhra University (AU) will conduct a three-day mega cultural fest, starting on April 6 (Monday), as part of its centenary celebrations. Speaking to the media on Saturday, vice-chancellor Prof GP Rajasekhar said that deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan will be the chief guest for the third-day event. He will also distribute prizes to the winners."The proceedings on April 6 will be inaugurated by the state home minister, Vangalapudi Anitha, as the chief guest. The fest will be organised on a massive scale at the AU engineering college grounds, involving students from the AU campus and its affiliated colleges. Vizag MP M Sribharat will attend as the chief guest on the second day," said Prof Rajasekhar.Cultural fest chairman Prof N Vijay Mohan said the festivities will begin with a cycling event from the AU convention centre to Rushikonda on April 6. "In the evening, the main stage at the engineering college grounds will host live bands and cultural performances, including Thappeta Gullu, yoga demonstrations, performances by the 'AU United' student group, dances by international students, and a musical night. On the second day (April 7), the engineering college will host rangoli competitions, salad decoration contests, and an 'ethnic day' photo booth event. The evening stage will feature cultural programmes by students, a musical concert by renowned singer Vagdevi, and cultural dances by foreign students. On the final day (April 8), a walkathon will be organised. The evening highlights will include live band performances, cultural shows by AU students, Dhimsa dance, Kolatam, and Puli Vesham.
