Nominations galore on penultimate day
Tirupati: On an ‘auspicious’ day, several prominent leaders from across different parties, including the ruling TDP, YSR Congress, Jana Sena, BJP and independents filed nominations across four Rayalaseema districts on Friday. In Chittoor, 92 nominations were filed across 14 assembly constituencies and 16 nominations were filed in three Lok Sabha constituencies of Tirupati, Chittoor and Rajampet.
Prominent among those who filed nominations in Chittoor district include DA Satyaprabha (TDP, Rajampet LS), Peddireddy Midhun Reddy (YSRC, Rajampet LS) and former TTD chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy (YSRC, Tirupati) and actress-turned-politician RK Roja (YSRC, Nagari assembly).
TDP nominee for Kadapa Lok Sabha seat C Adinarayana Reddy, TTD chairman Putta Sudhakar Yadav (TDP, Mydukur) were among the prominent leaders who filed nominations in Kadapa district.
In Anantapur district, the actor-turned-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna filed nomination at Hindupur.
Several other TDP leaders, including minister Kaluva Srinivasulu (Rayadurgam assembly) and nominees from other parties, also filed their nominations. A total of ninety nominations for 14 assemblies and 11 nominations for the two LS constituencies were filed on Friday.
Former Union minister Kotla Jayasurya Prakash Reddy who quit Congress for TDP filed his nominations for Kurnool Lok Sabha seat.
Six other nominations from different candidates, including YSRC's Dr Sanjeev Kumar, were filed from Kurnool Lok Sabha seat.
From Nandyal Lok Sabha seat, SPY Reddy, who switched over to Jana Sena after being denied a ticket by TDP, filed his nominations on Friday.
Twelve other candidates including TDP and YSRC nominees filed their nominations on Friday which also included minister Bhuma Akhila Priya filed her nomination from Allagadda assembly.
TDP leader Dr Kodela Sivaprasada Rao also submitted his nomination papers on Friday in Sattenapalle, accompanied by scores of party cadres. Many TDP cadres from different parts of Sattenapalle and Narasaraopet constituencies attended a rally, led by Kodela, before he filed the nomination.
Meanwhile, TDP’s senior MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao filed his nomination papers in Narasaraopet. With his car unable to move ahead amidst massive rally, he took an auto and reached the RO’s office to file the papers on time.
