No Covid-19 deaths in AP, says health department
Vijayawada: The department of health and family welfare on Thursday denied reports of high mortality rate due to Covid-19 in the state.
J Nivas, commissioner, health department, said there was no death due to Covid-19 this season.
As per the statistics of the Union health ministry, there are 439 active cases in the state and 49 new cases were registered on Thursday.

The health department is monitoring new infections and providing necessary medical care, said the commissioner.
Three Covid-19 patients had died due to comorbidities. As per information given by the health department, Prasad (21), from Kalinada tested positive for Covid-19 in rapid antigen test. He had viral pneumonia and died.
Sandeep (26) tested positive for Covid-19 in RTPCR test and died of necrotizing pancreatitis at government general hospital, Kakinada.
P Chintoo (21) was admitted with severe viral pneumonia to King
George Hospital, Visakhapatnam. He was tested negative for Covid-19. He died due to lung failure.
Nivas said that the health department was ready to face any emergencies. Covid-19 sub-variant XBB.1.16 is spreading but is not so dangerous, he said.
The health department asked people to dismiss unverified reports on Covid-19 deaths.
