New Haj house in Amaravati soon: CM
Vijayawada: The state govt will immediately release the pending honorariums dues to the tune of Rs 45 crore to Imams and Mouzans in the state, chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced on Monday. He also assured that the govt will construct a new Haj house in Amaravati.Participating in the Iftar dinner hosted by the state govt in Vijayawada, he said the NDA govt is committed to the economic and social upliftment of minorities in the state and has implemented several welfare initiatives for the community since assuming office in 2024. He further said that the incomplete Haj house in Kadapa would soon be made operational, while a new Haj house will be established in Amaravati.Highlighting welfare measures, the CM said 4.38 lakh Muslims are receiving pensions under NTR Bharosa scheme, for which the govt is spending Rs 3,511 crore annually. Around 4.5 lakh Muslim students are benefiting under the Thalli Ki Vandanam scheme, while scholarships to the tune of Rs 264 crore were released for 19,215 students.
