The opening match is scheduled for June 3 in Mangalagiri, marking a symbolic new beginning. APL fixtures will also be held in Visakhapatnam and Kadapa.Modernisation works, including floodlights and spectator stands costing ₹5 crore, are underway and expected to finish by May. The revamped stadium is likely to be inaugurated by chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, and minister Nara Lokesh.
Officials said the stadium will feature improved seating, accommodation for 100–150 players, medical and physiotherapy facilities, and enhanced infrastructure. In the long term, Mangalagiri Stadium will evolve into a multi-sports hub, positioning itself as the main venue for the APL and a key centre for domestic cricket in Andhra Pradesh.
