TIRUPATI: Thirty-three year old Derangula Krishna Mohan attempted to abduct a 21-year-old at Kadapa on Wednesday but was thwarted by the police in time.

When the girl moved to Bengaluru, Mohan followed her there. Fed up with him, her parents brought her home.
On Wednesday, when her parents were not at home, Mohan entered the house wearing a burqa and abducted her.
Alert neighbours, who saw Mohan, informed the parents, who in turn called the police. Both the parents and the police reached the house to find bones and a skull, a burning candle next to a LPG cylinder and the girl’s spare dress drenched in petrol. Mohan, police said, wanted to stage an accident and make it appear as if the girl died in the fire accident.
DSP Suryanarayana formed two teams and rushed them to Nellore and Vellore (in Tamil Nadu). Using technology, the accused was traced near Vellore railway station and was arrested around noon on Thursday.
