Man sets fire to woman’s scooter, house after she rejects him in Vizag

Visakhapatnam: A man allegedly set fire to a woman's two-wheeler and her house after she refused to speak to him at Duvvada locality in the early hours of Monday. The accused was identified as Sai Krishna, a native of Rambilli in Anakapalle district. Police said he was previously in a relationship with the victim, a widow. Following a dispute in Sept 2025, a case was registered against him and he was sent to jail. After being released, Sai Krishna reportedly made repeated attempts to contact the woman. When she refused to speak to him and blocked his phone number, he allegedly set fire to her scooter while she was asleep inside the house. The flames soon spread to the house. The woman managed to escape and alerted fire service personnel, who rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire. Based on her complaint, police registered a case and launched a search for the accused.
