Man sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment for raping minor

VIJAYAWADA: The special bench for POSCO and SC& ST atrocities sentenced Shaik Saleem (33) from Donabanda of Ibrahimpatnam mandal to 10 years in prison, for raping a minor girl in April 2016.
Saleem, who had been working as a mechanic, entered girl’s house forcibly and committed heinous crime. He was taken into custody in the same month and case under related sections of POCSO was booked against him.
The case came to trial on Thursday to special bench for POSCO and SC& ST atrocities and judges sentenced Saleem to undergo 10 years imprisonment and ordered to pay a fine of Rs. 2 lakh to the victim and another Rs.50, 000 to government.
