Man arrested after friend’s death ruled as murder in Vizianagaram district
Visakhapatnam: The suspicious death of a man at Tummikapalle under Kothavalasa police station limits in Vizianagaram district in January has turned into a murder. The police have nabbed K Ashok Kumar (32) for killing his friend V Someswara Rao (34).The police said Someswara Rao, a native of Rajapatrunipalem, was found dead under suspicious circumstances at Ashok Kumar's apartment near Janardhannagar in Tummikapalle on Jan 27.Ashok Kumar and Someswara Rao were friends, and both were addicted to liquor and were separated from their families.Initially, the police registered a case under suspicious death, citing that Rao fell from the apartment and died. The investigation and the CCTV footage revealed that the duo consumed liquor on the night of Jan 27, and they went to Ashok Kumar's residence. The inebriated Ashok and Rao created some nuisances at the apartment.However, an argument broke out between them that led to a scuffle between them, resulting in Rao falling from the building and dying. The police said Ashok accidentally pushed Rao during the argument that led to a head injury and the death of Rao. We have arrested Ashok Kumar on murder charges, and he was sent to remand, the police added.
