Upon receiving information, Rajesh rushed to the spot along with his team and initiated a preliminary investigation. After checking the mobile phones found in a handbag at the scene, police identified the deceased and informed their family members. Initial investigation revealed that Savitri and Prasanna met on a social media platform and got closer, even though the woman was already married and had two children.
A two-wheeler and a bottle of pesticide were found near the bodies. Police suspect the couple may have first consumed pesticide and later hanged themselves from the tree using a chunni.
