Lovers die by suicide near Rapur-Chitvel ghat road
Tirupati: An unmarried man and a married woman, who were reportedly in a relationship, died by suicide in the forest area on Rapur-Chitvel ghat road on Tuesday. The deceased were identified as Alapaka Prasanna Kumar (25) of Muthukur and M Savitri of Chintalathopu village in Chittamuru mandal.Villagers from Pangili who went into the forest to collect honey noticed the bodies hanging from a tree and immediately alerted Pangili VRO Sudhakar. He, in turn, informed local sub-inspector Venkata Rajesh.

Upon receiving information, Rajesh rushed to the spot along with his team and initiated a preliminary investigation. After checking the mobile phones found in a handbag at the scene, police identified the deceased and informed their family members. Initial investigation revealed that Savitri and Prasanna met on a social media platform and got closer, even though the woman was already married and had two children.A two-wheeler and a bottle of pesticide were found near the bodies. Police suspect the couple may have first consumed pesticide and later hanged themselves from the tree using a chunni.
