VIJAYAWADA: Sk
Jaleel Khan
was at it again. The
Vijayawada West MLA
of TDP stoked a new controversy in political circles here by warning that Muslims are capable of torching ten trains if their welfare is neglected by the government. A video of the legislator speaking at a recent community gathering and issuing the veiled threat has gone viral on the social media.
Jaleel spoke at the meeting a few days ago where he highlighted how Muslims are being neglected by all the political parties and using them as a mere votebank. "Kapu leaders had torched just one train at Tuni seeking BC status. We will go on a rampage if our welfare is neglected. Our anger will be ten times more than what the state has witnessed," he warned, drawing loud cheers from the motley group of community people. The video has already received more than 10 lakh hits in the last couple of days.
Not stopping at that, Jaleel claimed that he had cautioned TDP chief
Chandrababu Naidu
as to how concerns of Muslims are not being taking into consideration. Jaleel explained to Naidu that Vijayawada has a sizeable Muslim votebank in all the three constituencies and play a big role in swinging the fortunes of candidates. "I told Naidu in clear terms that if Muslims are ignored and the government hurts their sentiments, they will hit back strongly. We have superior strength and can outdo Kapus. They torched just one train. Our people will torch 10 trains," Jaleel thundered. The maverick MLA further said that he had joined the ruling party from
YSRC
upon a request from Naidu.
