VIJAYAWADA: Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati on Tuesday inaugurated a three-day training programme on leather art for women in the city.

Vijay Bhaskar, director of language and cultural department of Andhra Pradesh. Speaking at the event,
Bhaskar said it would be really helpful for women to take up the training as it gives them the opportunity to pursue their talents.
Further, the programme will help promote art.
As part of the initiative, the women would learn to make toys made out of leather, lab shade lamps and wall paintings. They would also be provided with plans to monetise their newly-learnt skill. Field experts will teach the participants. The event is organised by department of language and culture, Minaakshi Arts and Crafts Welfare Society and Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati.
