Kerala girl studying at IISER-Tirupati dies in road mishap at Kadapa
Tirupati: A 20-year-old student from Kerala studying at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) at the Yerpedu campus near Tirupati was killed in a road accident at Kadapa on Saturday.According to the Chennur police, a group of 6 students pursuing bachelor's degrees in science at IISER-Tirupati planned a 2-day visit to Gandikota.

Tragedy struck the group of students travelling from Tirupati to Gandikota when a container truck hit them as they exited the Kadapa bypass road. When the group negotiated a turn at the ISKCON Circle on the outskirts of Kadapa, a container truck hit one of the bikes from behind, and 20-year-old Nishitha, the pillion rider, lost control and fell under the wheels of the moving truck.Before she was shifted to the hospital, Nishitha sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot. Chennur police learnt about the incident, rushed to the accident spot, and shifted the body of the deceased to the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences for post-mortem.Police informed Nishitha's parents about her death.
