Karuna Kumar, Keerthana triumph

Vijayawada: Srikalahasti player B Karuna Kumar defeated Y Tejith of Guntur 6-5 in the U-16 boys singles to clinch the title the Open tennis tournament. In the girls final, Keerthana Adurty defeated Ch Chaithanya Sree 6-3. K Venkatswara Rao, Jain Sai Graphics, K D Gopal , director of the Star Tennis Academy presented the cash prizes and trophies to the winners. Academy chief coach K Girish, K Arunkumar were present.
Results: Boys: U-16: B Karuna Kumar bt Y Tejith 6-5. U-14: S.Abhinav Reddy bt B Jaya Sai Kumar 6-4. U-12: D Akhil bt K Vrishin Sai 6-4. Open doubles: B Karuna Kuar /B Jaya Sai Kumar bt Y Tejith/BMNV Karthik 6-4. Girls: U-16: Keerthana Adurty bt Ch Chaithanya Sree 6-3. U-14: Isitha Patnaik bt AVaishali 6-5. Sadia Almos wins gold medal
Sadia Almos a student of KL University won the gold medal and the ‘Strong Woman’ title in the 57 kg category in the Asian Universities Powerlifting held in Sharja, informed South India Powerlifting Association secretary S Koteswara Rao. She represented the Indian Universities in the championship. She lifted 142.5kg in squat, 62.5kg in bench press and 135kg in deadlift for a total 340kg..
Babu bags body building gold
SK Babu won the gold medal in the 50kg category in the Krishna District Bodybuilding championship held at Velidandla Hanumantharaya Grandhalayam, Vijayawada. PVV Ram Sai, Ch Kuralaiah secured the second and third places respectively. A total of 132 body builders participated in the event.
