TIRUPATI: Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy did not appear before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Hyderabad on Friday. The
CBI had called him for questioning in the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case. He was directed to appear before the investigation officer in Hyderabad at 11 am on Friday (May 19), but the MP did not turn up citing sudden ill health of his mother.
Avinash's mother YS Lakshmi was hospitalized at Pulivendula and later shifted to Hyderabad for better medical attention on Friday. The Kadapa MP was reportedly on his way to the CBI office in Hyderabad when he received information about his mother's sudden hospitalisation from his relatives.
The MP sent a communique to the CBI team regarding the sudden development and informed the investigation officer that he would not be able to appear as he had to rush to Pulivendula to attend to his ailing mother.
Avinash also sent his counsel Malla Reddy to personally meet the CBI team and communicate his message to them. Malla Reddy later informed the reporters about the same.
The MP was earlier directed to appear before the investigation officer on May 16 but he had sought time stating that he had predetermined party work.
